Reread the following from lasis module’s Reading: The goal of the World Health Organization (WHO) is to build a “better, healthier future for people all over the world” (WHO, 2018a, p. 1). The WHO manages public health for the world and has offices in more than 150 countries, It works with governments to manage health through the United Nations system. The WHO is often the first on the scene for health issues in developing countries, especially in Africa. Yet, it needs to conduct surveillance on a much larger scale than the CDC in the United States or other national health safety organizations in more developed countries. Because the scope of the WHO’s surveillance is so large, poorer countries are often more vulnerable to infectious diseases than those with national health safety organizations. Since these diseases can spread, the health problems in poorer countries are global problems. Answer the following in your initial post by day 3 : Should wealthier nations contribute to the surveillance of poorer nations and send resources and medical professionals to help when an outbreak occurs? Why or why not? Be specific & provide examples. Respond to at least two of you classmate’s posts by day 7 and include additional insight that contirubutes to the conversation and moves it forward.
